Westport Cafe and Bar
/Having never been to Westport Cafe and Bar located on Westport Road, we decided to patron the local bistro during their Sunday happy hour. It was a perfect time to sample some of food and drinks we have been hoping to try!
Entering the Cafe, the bar is located on the right with rustic tables and chairs lining the oposite wall. Walking down the hallway we sat in the back area which had its own unique style with large windows and oversized mirrors.
We were impressed by the menu, the dishes definitely have a strong French inspiration and although simple, showcase a lot of creativity in the details.
We started off with drinks and hors d'oeuvres from the happy hour menu. We loved the simplicity of the baked ricotta w/ goat cheese and truffled honey. It was delicious!
Blake ordered a glass of bourbon and the croque madam, a chef's recommendation that includes ham, grainy mustard, bechamel, melted gruyere and a fried egg on sourdough bread.
And he tried to eat it like a sandwich.
I tried the grilled chicken sandwich that had grilled chicken, gruyere, roasted tomato and a light dressing on a croissant. It was amazing, super filling and delicious.
Bethany was adventurous and tried the roasted beets salad with goat cheese and balsamic dressing. It was light and simple but flavor-packed
