Westside Local boasts a locally sourced, fresh and creative menu, a fantastic bar, gorgeous food presentation and a relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere. A small garden on their property is where many of their vegetables, herbs, and spices are grown and their meat is sourced from The Local Pig and other local butchers.

3. Blue Bird

or almost 12 years, Blue Bird has crafted their menu with produce and meat from local, organic, all-natural family farms. They have built a strong network with local farmers and are one of our favorite go-to spots for local eating. The atmosphere at Blue Bird is quaint, rustic and inviting and they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Jonathan Justus has put Smithville, MO on the map as a foodie destination. His restaurant brings a blend of fine dining and sincere commitment to local farms. Justus drugstore is the perfect place for a night away, a bottle of wine and some of the most memorable food in the Midwest. Justus was recently ranked in the Farm to Table Top 25 by Opinionated about Dining.

6. Room 39

Room 39 has locations in Midtown and Leawood. Founders Andrew Sloan and Ted Habiger are committed to sourcing their ingredients from local farms. The Room 39 menu changes to reflect the local fruits and vegetables that are in season. They serve from their cafe menu for lunch and dinner but the mood and cuisine become more elegant for dinner hours.

Pigwich was founded by the owners of The Local Pig. In the short time since opening their doors, The Local Pig has become an authority on local, farm to table meats.
