Genessee Royale Bistro - West Bottoms
/Genessee Royale is a perfect little vintage bistro tucked in the West Bottoms industrial area. The bistro is a converted gas station with plenty of personality and serves a unique breakfast and lunch menu.
We stopped in on a Saturday recently for an early lunch. We loved the atmosphere and both the indoor and outdoor seating options. We sat next to one of the large garage doors which let tons of natural light flood into the little restaurant.
We started off our meal with their homemade french fries. YUM. Totally a fattening way to start the meal but they were incredible.
Blake and Bethany tried sandwiches. Blake was impressed with the toasted cashew chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich had a curry flavor which was delicious. Bethany tried their BLT with Webster City hickory smoked bacon. The produce was super fresh and meat was amazing.
I ordered off the breakfast menu. The GRB Breakfast Sandwich was amazing. Bacon, eggs, cheddar on a garlic bagel. It was incredibly rich so I had a hard time eating much of it.. but it was delicious.
The Genessee Royale Bistro is a sister to Happy Gillis cafe. Both restaurants are known for serving some of the best homestyle breakfasts in town.
Its never too early for a cookie, right? We finished off the meal with a freshly baked macadamia nut cookie. The bakery items are freshly baked in house daily.
We left completely satisfied.
